ONE of Malaysia’s leading retailers of natural beauty and cosmetics products is pairing up with a specialist school for art and design in the search for up-and-coming fashion designers.
The Body Shop and PJ College of Art & Design (PJCAD) are jointly organising ‘Brush with Fashion’, a competition for PJCAD fashion design students to unleash their talent and creativity. Participants are required to submit two designs each for avant-garde and ready-to-wear apparel.
Held in conjunction with the launch of The Body Shop’s new ‘Brush with Fashion’ range of on-trend, environmentally sustainable and cruelty-free make-up series, the competition sets a date for finalists to present their creations at the Brush with Fashion Show on April 9 at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
Ten finalists have been selected from 30 entries recently and provided with RM500 each by The Body Shop for the materials and accessories required to bring their sketches to life. Each fashion design finalist will then be paired with a make-up artist from The Body Shop to work together on creating the total look and feel for both designs for a catwalk show during the finals.
